5 Winter Hair Care Tips to Make Your Hair Healthier

Winter season is the favorite season of fashion lovers, book lovers, and romantic people. Unfortunately, it is not a good season for hair lovers, as this season brings new challenges and issues with it. These issues include dry and flaky scalp combined with static and frizzy hair.

If you want to make your hair healthier during the winter season, then we have got your back. We are going to tell you how to get healthy hair during winter with these 5 winter hair care tips.

These are as follows:

Moisturize Your Hair

During winters your hair scalp becomes itchy, dry, and flaky. Many people complain about dandruff as well, so to get rid of all of these issues you should start using hair oils and other forms of hair moisturizers. Even if your scalp is oily, it doesn’t mean your hair is. Oils like argan oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, olive oil, or almond oil are really good for hair health.

These oils condition the hair and make the hair stronger, shinier, and healthier. Also, if your hair becomes dry or frizzy then oil will help your hair to retain moisture. Oil your hair 2-3 hours before shampooing them and warm them to get the best results. Invest in a great hair mask, get yourself a good in leave in conditioner and serum.

Just like moisturizing your face and body is important, moisturizing your hair is also as important.

Avoid Heat Styling Tools

We know that you can’t resist the urge to dry your hair with a blow dryer in winters but for the sake of your hair, you have to. Heat styling tools such as blow dryers and straighteners should not be used on a regular basis as they make the hair brittle. After washing your hair, dry it first with a towel and let it air dry. You can wear beanies and hats in winters, so you don’t have to put extra effort to look good.

Embrace your natural hair from time to time, you just want to learn to tame it with serums and leave-in conditioners if you feel like it’s too out of control.

Don’t Take Hot Showers

Yes, this is very difficult, but you have to do it for your hair. Hot showers are not good for hair health, in fact they are one of the biggest reasons for dandruff, dry scalp and frizz. Hot water also dries the hair and removes moisture. If you think that you can’t bath with a cold shower, then you can take warm showers instead of scolding hot ones. But try to rinse your hair with cold water before you finish showering.

You can also work your way to getting used to cold or warm showers by slowly and gradually lowering the water temperature after every shower.

Wash your hair once or twice a week

Avoid washing your hair every day, you are stripping your hair of its natural oils, which leads your hair to promote even more oil to make up for the lack of. If you don’t already, try washing your hair once or twice a week, especially in winter.

You can easily reach for a dry shampoo if your hair is oily. Especially if you’re a person going from washing your hair every day to once or twice a week, it will take time for your hair and scalp to get used to it, and when it does your hair won’t get as oily throughout the week.

Healthy Diet

They say you are what you eat, that is in fact true for many cases. Skin, hair, nails, and much more. So, if you want to make your hair healthier then having a healthy diet and consuming proper nutrients is the best way to go.

You can also eat dry fruits such as almonds, walnuts, and dried figs. These dry fruits contain minerals and Vitamins in a rich amount that help in making hair healthier. Also, don’t forget to drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.
